Eric Mason is an owner of a San Francisco Chick Fil A, and he decided that starting Monday, his workers deserve higher wages. In the $17-$18 range. Y’all. Where was he when I needed my teenage job?? Not only is handing out raises to everyone, but also supervisors will get PTO, and everyone will get sick leave.
Lately the necessary hourly wage to live has been a hot topic of conversation. Many people have done the math for various big cities across the US, and the wage needed to live rarely matches the current minimum wage. Many companies are re-evaluating how they handle benefits like wages, time off, and maternity/paternity leaves. Also, many cities have already decided to raise their minimum wages.
Luckily these employees will get the chance to make better lives for themselves. Hopefully more companies will decide to the same!
Yassssssss!!
