I’m sure everyone is aware of the recent scandal surrounding Starbucks. A few weeks ago an employee at one of their locations called the police on two black men for existing. They were sitting waiting on a colleague and hadn’t ordered anything when the police were called. Now as an indirect, yet somewhat direct, response the chairman Howard Schultz is opening Starbucks restrooms to everyone.

Now I’m sure I’m not the only person who thought, “so is Starbucks going to be one of those places with the wipe the seat hold your nose bathroom?” I guess Schultz had the same concern because he released a statement saying, “we don’t want to become a public bathroom, but we’re going to make the right decision 100 percent of the time and give people the key…we don’t want anyone at Starbucks to feel as if we are not giving access to you to the bathroom because you are ‘less than.’ We want you to be ‘more than.'” I guess that’s a nice gesture. What are your thoughts?
