It’s about to be officially the beginning of summer. Memorial Day Weekend is this weekend, and I’m going to enjoy every bit of it. One of my favorite things to do is to grill and eat things that are on a stick. Today, I get to experience a bit of both worlds.
I’ll start with my BBQ sauce – I just puree super ripe peaches with my favorite BBQ sauce and add a touch of vodka. I’ll reduce that on the stove until it’s thick and sticky Then, I take skewers of sliced peaches, shrimp, and scallion, season them with salt and pepper, and then grill them up.
When the shrimp and peaches have just about cooked through, I’ll glaze them with that delicious BBQ sauce. I don’t do this early on in the process because if you do, then the BBQ will burn and no one wants that.
To serve them up, I just take some leftover BBQ sauce and add it to a bowl. Then, I place the skewers on a plate for everyone to enjoy.

1 pound of jumbo shrimp, cleaned & deveined
scallions, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 teaspoons of Peach Ciroc
1 cup of BBQ sauce
2 cups of fresh peach slices
the flesh of 1 peach
1 tablespoon of brown sugar (not shown on video)
salt & pepper to taste
1.. Arrange the shrimp, scallions, and peach slices on a skewer. Then, season with salt and pepper.
2. In a blender, mix the flesh of 1 peach along with the Peach Ciroc, brown sugar, and BBQ sauce. Then pour into a sauce pan and cook until it’s thick.
3. Grill up the shrimp skewers on both sides. During the last 90 seconds of grilling, brush with the BBQ sauce.
