Winner winner chicken dinner! Seriously, take a fresh chicken, whip up this butter concoction, roast in a hot oven (400 degrees) for about 35 minutes, and dinner is on the table. Plus, this was FINGER LICKING GOOD!!!

Butter & Brown Sugar Roasted Chicken

1 roasting chicken, cut, and cleaned – patted dry

1 stick of butter, room temperature

1 tablespoon of kosher salt

1 teaspoon of ground black pepper

1 teaspoon of paprika

1 tablespoon of dried Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

3 tablespoons of brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon of cumin

1 lemon

This is so simple, there shouldn’t even be a recipe. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl combine softened butter and all of the dry ingredients. Liberally rub butter mixture all over the chicken pieces. Be sure to rub under the skin too! Place chicken on a cookie baking sheet and cook until golden brown. In about 5 minutes the house should smell amazing! Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and enjoy.

  1. Hey Darius,

My 10 year old son has a YouTube Channel called Cooking with Curtis Griffin. Please go check him out. Also, can you tell me if we can do this recipe using boneless, skinless chicken breast? What are the changes that would be made? I will let him cook this recipe inspired by you soon. Any pointers would help.

    Thanks
    Glenda Wright
