What’s not to love about homemade jerk seasoning? It’s sweet. It’s spicy. And it’s just downright delicious. There’s really no need to fear making your own from scratch. Plus, there are no additives or preservatives. That means you feel better about what you put in your body. This steak is perfect for cooking indoors. But, it’s great outside on a grill too!

Jerk Rib Eye with Lime Butter

2 boneless ribeye steaks

2 teaspoons of olive oil

2 teaspoon of prepared jerk seasoning

2 tablespoons of butter

The juice of 1 lime

For the jerk seasoning:

1 teaspoon of Kosher salt

1 teaspoon of black pepper

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

1/2 teaspoon of paprika

1/2 teaspoon of allspice

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon of dried cilantro

2 teaspoons of brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme

First, combine all of the ingredients for the jerk seasoning and set aside. Meanwhile, rub the steaks with the olive oil and the jerk seasoning. Set the steaks aside. 

Preheat a cast iron skillet until it’s warm. Then, cook the steaks on both side, turning only once, to your desired temperature. Allow the steaks to rest.

Meanwhile, in the hot skillet, add the butter and lime juice and mix to combine. When melted, pour the lime butter over the rib eye steaks. Serve with rice and spinach and enjoy immediately.
