I ain’t even gonna waste your time with a fancy story. Well, maybe a little. Just know that this is the cornbread you use for cornbread dressing. None of that sweet cornbread or boxed stuff – it just won’t come out right.

And here’s the recipe:

1 cup of flour

1 cup of cornmeal

1 teaspoon of sugar

1/3 teaspoon of salt

1 tablespoon of baking powder

2 eggs

1 stick of melted butter

1 1/2 cups of buttermilk

1..Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

2. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour into a cast iron skillet and bake for 25 minutes or until it’s golden brown and set.
